Η λογική της κατάταξης είναι η εξής:
Στις 10 πρώτες θέσεις ήθελα να εκπροσωπηθούν οι βασικές κατευθύνσεις, με απόλυτη σειρά σπουδαιότητας. Στις θέσεις από 11-44, τα κριτήρια είναι μικτά. Πρώτο κριτήριο είναι το πόσο με έχει επηρεάσει κάποιος δίσκος, ανεξάρτητα από τη σπουδαιότητα που του αναγνωρίζω. Είναι σαφές ότι ο Χατζιδάκις είναι σημαντικότερος από τους Χειμερινούς Κολυμβητές, εκείνοι όμως αποδείχτηκαν πιο καθοριστικοί (στη ζωή μου). Δεύτερο κριτήριο είναι η αντοχή τους στον χρόνο. Η δεκαετία του '80 δεν άντεξε γι' αυτό και λείπουν μορφές όπως η Siouxie, Gang of four, Fall κλπ. Τρίτο κριτήριο ήταν η συναισθηματική σχέση μαζί τους τώρα, τη στιγμή αυτή. Σε έναν χρόνο πιθανώς να είναι άλλη η κατάταξη.
